Koszykarze Los Angeles Lakers po raz szesnasty w historii klubu zostali mistrzami NBA. W siódmym spotkaniu finałowym "Jeziorowcy" pokonali we własnej hali Boston Celtics 83:79. Trofeum dla MVP finałów otrzymał Kobe Bryant.
